IFSO decided to put together a CD that would server as an introduction to free software. The to make it as easy as possible for someone to experience free software. The CD was initially produced to be distributed at an IndymediaConference in Dublin in May 2004. In order to make it easy for even the most timid of computer users to see free software in action the cd contains 2 parts. Firstly there is free software for windows/mac. This was included because many people feel uncomfortable about using a full GNU/Linux system. Secondly the CD is bootable. It boots into a fully working GNU/Linux system (a slightly modified version of
morphix). This runs entirely off the CD and doesn't change the host computer at all. If so desired this fully working GNU/Linux system can be installed onto the host PC (overwriting the previously installed operating system). The CD also contains a number of audio recordings on the subject of free software and related topics.
