Installation
There are instructions already on the CDs.
Slax
When the CD boots, there will be a home icon on the desktop. Click on it.
On the top menu, you'll see location, Edit, View, Go. You want Go.
From the Go menu, look for Storage Media, just make sure the CD is in the drive.
A device list is shown, select CD-Rom.
There is a file on the CD contents called slax-guide.html, Click on it.
Somewhere around Line 20 of this file, you'll find an entry under How do I... called Boot Slax from hard drive. Have a read and return here to this document.
Please note that /dev/hda1 is the first partition on your hard drive, where Windows resides. Remember that selecting this drive will erase your existing system and replace it with Slax.
Secondly, you may prefer to install Slax on a USB drive. If this is the case, select /dev/sda1.
Thirdly, there is a choice between installing as a Live CD or Real. Both work fine, Live needs less space while Real gives better performance when the system is installed.
